NYC dog greetingExcitement greeting is one of the most controversial dog training and NYC dog parenting topics.  The classic debate is between nurture and according to a lot of trainers discpline and getting your dog on board to behave in a way that is respectful and healthy for your dog overall. Some Manhattan pet parents see the tail wagging and over-excitement of jumping up and down and bouncing off their owner’s legs or body as cute– the dog merely expressing that they missed the owner.  But, what if the dog could do that and be in a calm state of mind. Any psychologist, human or other would argue that love and missing another being can be expressed in many ways.  So, the choice is yours my dear doggy parents- would you like your dog to be able to express themselves in a way that is with a precedence of calm, stress-free pooch or just let your dog have a little anxiety and excitement during the greeting?
