3 Tips on How to be a Responsible, Loving Dog Parent Every NYC Doggy Daycare wants to do business with:

When you go out of your way to make people’s lives easier, the favor is usually returned (double at a minimum). Here are some tips on how to make your NYC dog’s daycare staff love you the way they love your dog:

  1. Walk your dog before bringing your dog to daycare.  Everyone’s in a rush to get to work, but go ahead and take that extra 15 min in the morning to walk your dog.  It’s not only valuable bonding time with your dog, but also reinforces good potty training habits for your dog and is one less mess that your dog’s daycare staff will have to pick up after.

2. Feed your dog breakfast at home.  Food, water, affection, attention: those are all forms of attention and love that dogs LOVE to work for!  No one likes a free hand out, so use feeding your dog breakfast as as chance to create happy rituals, eat breakfast yourself (the meal of champions) and start your day off on the right foot- full of energy and with your best friend at your side (sharing valuable family time).

3. Brush your dog’s hair on a regular basis. Brushing your dogs hair on a regular basis helps promote circulation as well as manages the amount of fur on your floor (for short breed dogs) and manages tangles and pulling for dogs that require a haircut. We highly recommend you brush your dog every day so that your dog is tangle free and bonds with you everyday! The groomer will thank you!
