It’s inevitable that when you are of a certain mind state and having a dinner party or a few friends, neighbors or co-workers over for drinks that one of them might think it’s cute to off your dog some alcohol. Be it wine, beer or some other alcohol substance– the bottom line is it’s not good for your dog.
Beer, liquor, wine, foods containing alcohol — none of it’s healthy or cute for dog to ingest. That’s because alcohol has the same effect on a dog’s liver and brain that it has on humans. But it takes far less to do its damage. Just a little can cause vomiting, diarrhea, central nervous system depression, problems with coordination, difficulty breathing, coma, even death. And the smaller the dog, the greater the effect.
Way’s to monitor this–let the guests know that your dog and ALL dogs are allergic to alcohol and that it could kill them or make them very very sick.
