Think that love bites on your hand are innocent? Think again. When your pup bites you as a puppy our general rule is correct this behavior–yesterday. How do you do this? Have a toy ready for them immediately so you can replace the bite on your hand with biting the toy. General rule for play: avoid the face. Start the fun young- and the correct appropriate play from Day 1. Why? Down the road this little bite can lead to an actual bite. Have a small dog? Bites hurt, are a sign of dominance, and little dogs can get away with a lot more. Take away: no bites!
