Are you looking to have an easy walk with your pup? Well, it seems that we are not the only one dedicated to providing tips and resources for dog owners! Here are our Exclusive Dog Nanny Training Tips Anyway:

1) The Dog Walk Begins before the leash goes on. Make sure your dog has a positive association with their collar, leash, harness etc.  If your dog hears the word walk and hides or disappears– Houston, we have a solution to this. Re-associate the leash and harness with affection, treats etc.

2) When your “walk” ends can be crucial. Are you rushing in after puppy poops?  This sets the tone to delay pooping…pooping signals “walk is over”…

3) Trail of Tears— does puppy always want a longer walk? As soon as your pup recognizes you are turning back they suddenly develop a case of the super sleuth and smell everything in sight? Their gate is no longer bouncy and you don’t want to be that person dragging their pup down the street cause you have a meeting to go pronto!

There are at least 8 other things that can be incorporated into proper dog walking. For specific questions and to get your questions answered aka the full smorgasboard of tips, order an optimize dog walking session with us for $100 by emailing info@newyorkdognanny.com or attend one of our Tuesday evening ask the trainer nights for $15.  Attend 3 in one month and receive $25 credit towards your private dog training session.
