NYC dog training

What does a dog owner or pet sitter do when there are dogs that just do not stop competing for the alpha position?  How about a NYC daycare or boarding personelle caring for multlile dogs?  In Manhattan dog daycare centers run rampant with Queens boarding and Brooklyn pet service centers not far behind in toe.  Lots of Manhattan dog clients ask us how to we defuse a dog fight?  For starters, behaviors for this battle for number one NYC doggie in the pack can look like any of the following: barking, showing teeth, avoidance behaviors and even a physical tiff.  The best thing to do is to take the dominant dog and have him/her sniff the non-dominant dogs behind.  In establishing a pecking order these pack animals defer to a behavior akin to a standoff. Whoever submits is the less dominant one and one of the submissive behaviors is the less-dominant dog sniffs the dominant’s dog behind.
